Default DD cam worries

Well I'm ready to do a cam in my truck have read and read about custom grind vs off the shelve cam.

My worries are daily use, WINTER use, and fuel economy. In this order not to concerned about mpg as long as its not drastic under regular use.

The cam I'm thinking of buy is from a member on here it's a EPS cam n/a 219/227, .595/.598 113+3, 45 deg of over lap

Worried its a lot of lift for a dd that gets Canadian winter use.

Please help would like to make a deal with this guy or move on to something that you guys suggest for this summer.

Thanks in advance

what size engine? some think since ur doing performance ur MPGs drop and sometimes its not always the case my 2011 6.2 got cammed since a month from new drove from Texas to Virginia to DC North Carolina and Tennessee till i hit 23,000 miles when i went crazy on mods but my MPG went up it was amazing how a full tank would last me a week and a half on a cammed 6.2L

I dd my truck with a 227/235 113 cam and a 3700 stall torque converter. Not too bad.

The only thing to blame poor MPG is your right foot. It is just so tempting to roll into that throttle and give it more gas than needed just for fun.

My MPG took a massive dump after heads/cam. From up to 19.6 highway to 15.6 now at best. Small cam too.........virtually identical to the OPs and I got it from EPS also.
