Well as a tuner you know timing and fuel control is tuning, period. EFI live will offer a laundry list of other options including far better tweaking of the fuel and timing, in the right hands yielding better results. However, had you used the handheld past the "default flash" and attempted to tune, power could have/should have been made.

With the Diablo you can monitor knock, add timing, and play with fuel.

Or your right, you can pay someone to send you something and have a "real tune".

To each there own, a diablo in "my opinion" is useful if you care to adjust your own tune and of course know what your doing. If you can find one used, I would say go for it.

My truck on the Diablo tune knocked on the dyno resulting in timing being pulled, this was logged with the included software. The long pull of a load dyno was to much, pulled timing, lost power. However, on the streets the truck never knocked. I also had logs of 30-90mph pulls, from 3rd gear (5speed truck) where the tune dropped the truck from 8.9 stock, to 8.2 with tune. This was just the flash, not actually tuning it further from there. With that being said, mine worked as advertised.

wow! you guy's are really defensive about your DIABLO'S

oh, and by the way, by "REAL TUNE" i meant a dyno tune.

you can talk all you want about the diablo, and i will give that it has the most tuning features, of all the programmers out there. but when it comes down to it nothing can compare to a efilive/hptuners dyno tune

to the op, if you get dissapointed by the performance you get out of your truck, from the diablo, cheer up you still have your R/T, aka HELL CAT FROM PLANET KICKASS

Good luck

I've got the new U7194 that controls 6.2L...since that's what I've got. Yes, I did the fuel trims and all that stuff. Never felt any different to me. I took it off due to no transmission control for the 6spd. I know that isn't an issue for the 2007, but not feeling any different when I took the predator off is an issue. It is good for monitoring you engine if you want. If it is good for chryslers I could put it on either my 69 or 70 roadrunner...just have to figure where to plug it in. Anyway, I like my custom mail tune and it wasn't extremely expensive. Diablo can do custom tunes also, I think. Check out some of the sponsors websites. Good luck either way.
