if you have it, there is a notice in the drivers info center when it kicks in.
says 4cyl mode or something like that.

advantage, slightly better fuel economy
disadvantage, truck sounds like crap running on 4cyl if you have performance exhaust

it can be disabled in your tune with hpt

is disabling it with a tune the same as physically removing it with parts?

nope
the DOD lifters cant handle a cam unless the cam is spec'd for DOD which i dont see a point in.

change all 16 lifters, 4 lifter trays, 2 head gaskets, crank bolt, head bolts

What's interesting is that 2009-2010 SUV and Trucks show a different engine code. Truck have and L99 and SUV's have a L94. L94 data sheets shows "Active Fuel Management as an option. In 07-08 all SUV and trucks had L92.

' Get rid of the dod ... Those dod lifters suck' they are engine killers' I had my dod. Removed from my tunner ' but those lifters cannot handle above 6000 rpm' eventually failing at high lift cam and rpm's .. Change to ls7 lifters and valley cover
