Driveshaft Came Apart
I resently blew my driveshaft going about 115 mph in my 08 5.3 Silverado Crewcab.
I have heard that a way to prevent this is to have the Driveshaft high speed balenced. I have also been told to make a custom 2 piece unit.
I have minor mods and a Dyno tune.
I plan on putting a Turbo to have a little fun and to catch people off guard.
Any suggestions for my driveshaft?

Actually no other damedge was found. The truck is still under powertrain warranty so the driveshaft was replaced.
The dealer never had seen it happen before. So they just replaced it.
I know it's because I was going past the factory speed limiter of 90 mph.
I 'am guessing GM knows there driveshafts don't like higher speeds, thats why they limit them at 90.
These trucks carry there weight very well, I' am guessing my truck should do 130 pretty easy.

the stock is about .060 thick. Theirs is .125 they told me they got them behind big hp/tq diesels. I told them I need 6200rpm for being locked in 3rd and they told me no problem. Critical speed calculates out to 6400 or so

Lucky you. My local dealer declined my warranty on my FIRST shaft at 7500 miles. The last one I bought from chevy blew up under 100 mph. The third one I had built.
