Does anyone sell a driveshaft loop or has anyone made one themselves. Seems like cheap ins if you loose the shaft.

Search Lakewood 18000, pretty cheap and you don't have to drop the driveshaft to install it. I plan on getting one just to protect the trans if my driveshaft lets go, but I rarely ever have my truck over 100.

Man that sucks. I dont have one of these trucks but just built a turbo one. It ripped the driveshaft in two in the middle at 113mph on the dyno, during the first pull. this is a scsb. If you have the 6L90 trans dennys cant make u a shaft they say they cant balance it cause of the large yoke on it. he had a 4" make at a local place and it holds up good.

Yeah mine ripped in the middle both times. I had another steel one made. The shop built it .083 and 3.5" diameter. They said should hold 1,000 hp. The factory steel if you didn't know is .065 is 3" diameter but tapers to 2 3/4" about 5-6" from each yoke in front and back.

Anybody have the factory specs or know the limits of the driveshaftin our 6.2 trucks? They look a lot larger than the descriptions I've heard for the 5.3 units.

Not a bad plan. I think if I decide to bump things up a bit with a tune and some mods, I may replace the driveshaft just to eliminate the risk.
