The factory builds them to handle factory trucks. Its when you start pushing 100+mph where you run into big problems.

What about the 6.2 trucks? Obviously we have the same speed limiter, but is there a difference in the 100+ mph performance of our driveshafts?

There could be. I honestly wouldn't trust any factory driveshaft again after I saw what GM did with my truck. The stock tune had the speed limiter set at 90mph, and I couldn't figure out why until I got it removed and ran into an absolutely brutal vibration at like 93mph. They are typically set at 98, but it certainly looks as if GM tried to hide the error on my truck. Scary thought...

Wow, that is scary! Mine hits 98mph quick, fast, and in a hurry, no hesitation, vibration, or other issues. If I can go 120 on it, I'd be totally satisfied. What kind of money and driveshaft options are we looking at for 120+mph, 500hp, and 33" tires on my truck (planning ahead)?

The first shaft twisted exactly in the middle and tore up $1500 worth of crap. That was at 90ish with no lowering and stock 3.42's. The second one made it to 110ish if I remember correctly with the reared lowered and 4.10's. Both shafts were factory. The one I have now is a 3.5" steel shaft but having u joint trouble on rear and I want it high speed c
Balanced. Gonna try Jackson Powertrain in Jackson,Ms. Had one of our members give them a good referral.

My factory driveshaft is a pretty large one-piece that appears to be aluminum. If that is a problem over 100mph just like all the other trucks, I guess that will also be on my short list of things to replace before a tune.
