Electric Cutout Wiring? - NNBS
Howdy,
I am getting a 3.5" DMH electric cutout for christmas for my truck. How have y'all wired yours up; where have y'all placed the switch? Where is the best place to run the wiring: through the floor via a drain plug or through the firewall somewhere?
I was thinking about next to the steering column on the left side under the gauges on the dashboard. Or somehow in the center console. Either way I'll prolly use velcro or 3M or something to hold the switch in place. I'm a little nervous to pull too many plastic pieces apart looking for a way to run the wiring.
Thanks

I just installed mine the other day. i hid the switch in the cubby on side of the radio. not the best install due to the very limited space behind the cubby hole and the long switch. I spliced the power in with the cigarette lighter and ran the wires from the switch under the floor board and came out where the emergency brake cable comes into the cab on drivers side. Tie wrapped it to other cables under the truck and ran through the transmission cross mount. Looks good and can't see it unless you look under the truck.

Right there in post # 98 is how I did mine.

I ran the wire inside the side impact cross member you see in the pic, then it exits at the driver side frame rail. I ran it on top the frame with all the other wires, cables, etc. Then it goes into the cab through a rubber grommet in the floor about 6 inches in front of the driver's seat. From there is runs under the carpet and up to the fuse panel and dash area.
