Default Engine Light at +100MPH

I have a 2011 RCSB 5.3 6L80E 3.42.

I was on the freeway the other night and punched it, got up over 100 to about 105 and the engine light started blinking so I slowed down & it went away. Did it again about 10 mins later & it did the same thing, once slowed, it went away.

Has anyone had this problem before? I'm wondering if that's just what the new trucks do now when pushed over 100? I had a 2008 CCSB 5.3 4L60E 3.73 before and would top it out at about 125 atleast every other day with no problems. Any insight on this problem is appreciated, thanks.

Check the codes. My truck used to do it also and it was a maf performance code.

That is probably the "your driveshaft is about to explode, slow down" light.

I have only had mine over 100 once or twice. The stories on here have me worried enough that I don't want to try it too often without having a backup.

A RCSB with tall 3.42 gears should be okay at those speeds. I have had my ECSB (longer alum shaft) to 130 mph with 3.73 gears when I felt a "change". I promptly slowed down.

Not sure on the light, but I have had mine 140, still felt ok. I felt no need to keep my foot on the loud pedal any longer..

I wonder how Flaco's truck feels... I'm pretty sure he's had Lil' Sis up to 180.
