Default which exhaust?

What exhaust are you guys running? I got the 5.3 jba haeders, borla cat back single in dual out and i have horrible drone. Would true duals free up some more power?

True Duals will only help if you are pushing more power.

There are dozens of threads that I found of people telling what exhausts they have. What exactly is your question? Do you want more power or do you want to get rid of Drone?

If I had to get a new exhaust because of the drone would duals be the way to go?

IMO Nope. You have no need for true duals. And for any power that you may make up top with true duals, you'll lose twice that down low in the powerband and torque. Just get you a better muffler and call it a day, as stated there are tons of exhaust threads about how to fix drone issues, alot of people ask about true duals, but unless you're just doing it for the sound, OR running some sort of forced induction, True Duals is over kill for our trucks.

After adding the headers it helped out some but it's still very annoying.

I'll take your advice and get a better muffler.

Magnaflow round muffler here...no drone vs my friends oval single in dual out muffler what has HORRIBLE drone through out the lower RPMs.

Pacesetter LTs/OR-y/14" round Magnaflow 3" in, single 3" out

You still have your cats correct? The JBA headers are just shorties????

I don't see how your drone is that bad with just a cat back, but then again alot of cat backs are not the same. I usually build my own exhaust system with a muffler of my choice and and favorite exhaust shop.

Borla makes some good mufflers, I'm not sure how their cat backs are though, I've heard people say magnaflow drone, but I like it, Hooker aerochambers are good too-though a little too quiet for my tastes.

EXACTLY. Could not have said it better myself. True duals aren't worth anything unless you have some SERIOUS power adders as in Forced induction.

I have a full cat back magnaflow. The muffler is pretty big but I like it cause its quiet cruising down the road and is decently loud at WOT. But once I get Long tube headers I'm sure it will get louder but I would really like a corsa muffler.

Only mufflers I like and would recommend.
Magnaflow
Corsa
Borla

My favorite by far. Good sound and very little drone.
