Hey, I have an '08 crew cab 2wd Chevy with a 5.3. I'm not sure what exhaust to go with, I'm in between Flowmaster and Magnaflow and I'm not sure whether to do true duals, dual in/out, or single in/ dual out. Either way I am getting turndowns, I just want it to be really deep and loud. I am also considering ditching the manifold and getting a set of LT headers, how will this change my sound and performance? Which brand should I get and how much do they run? I also want to know which bolt-ons you recommed. I plan on getting either a supercharger or turbo and building my tranny and rearend in a little while but wanted to get some little things done first. I want a CAI and was looking at either AFE OR Volant, a custom tune, and maybe some servos or something.

 

Magnaflow out of the two options you have, if you have money Corsa
Trueflow XDI Intake or Volant is good also
Custom Tune, Wheatly or Blackbear
American Racing Headers if you can afford
s/c sounds nice, but typical. not sure if anyone is running a trubo on these new body style trucks.
servo's help but if you are going to be rebuilding tranny, then i'm not sure it would matter, if not then vette servo and billet servo's

 

You may consider Borla also. That's what I have the Borla 12" XR-1 muffler and went to a GOOD exhaust shop and had a 3" single tailpipe that exits in the stock location with a 4" stainless tip. Sounds throaty and mean even without lt's. Have had many compliments. +1 for Wheatley for a tune. His tunes are pretty awesome. Just my .02.

i have pacesetter l/t an ory pipe, p&p throttle body, 14"magnaflow exhaust, crap tune. i went 16.07. my truck is extremely loud at WOT. id go with underdrive pullies, CAI, 3000-3200 stall, shift kit, servos, Blackbear tune, 3:73-4:10s posi trac. then if thats not enough go FI
