I don't see how that's possible unless you're cammed at least. What type of muffler did you use before and using now?

that was cam only for him. I know they make dual 3" for the raptor and for the vette too however they like the smaller headers also. decisions decisions.....

i said this in another thread too, but then realized it may be more applicable in this one. sorry for spamming your threads. lol

Just an FYI, I've done a little research on these things and it looks like the y pipe is only made to clear a 4 speed trans and will not clear a 6 speed trans. I'm interested to see how it fits on your truck and what all you will have to do to "make it work".

I really dont want to pay the premium for ARH or kooks, but they seem to have a y pipe that clears the 6l80, and also offer a catted option. so i may end up going that route.

so.. you switched the exhaust from the cat back with a 4in setup and thats the numbers you gained... just curious were you running 3 1/2in for the y pipe then?

The Y-pipe was bigger than a 3" that's for sure custom made closer to 3 1/4" I'm looking for the dyno sheet to upload the shop where I get my work done do this setup alot with 6.0s and 6.2s they love air flow

Yeah I figured with you being cammed and a 6.2L that yeah, you may benefit from the bigger pipe. My little 5.3L won't need anything bigger than dual 2.5''. I'm gonna fabricate an equal length x-pipe setup like what's on a Mustang, Corvette and the like. Dead nuts centered, not off to one side where it does no good for performance. Plenty of room under there, just gotta relocate a few wire harnesses and a couple lines.

Update on this: I talked with a guy from Calspeed on the phone. He said the they dont know for sure that the y pipe DOESN'T fit with a 6l80, they just haven't tried it yet so they can't say it DOES fit for sure either. He said there isn't that much size difference between the two trannys, so he thinks it actually should work. I'll wait for you to try it with a 6l80 to try them out and see how the y fits.

Also, the reason they don't sell a catted y is because it is illegal in California to sell any type of high flow cat. They can't buy them or sell them there. I want cats so I'll just buy some high flow cats and get my exhaust guy to put them in.
