Well i got the replacement trans installed yesterday and im back in business but actually back to square one... I had the busted 6L80E swapped under warranty for another out of a 2010 gm truck .... Now i need to goget VIN reflash at dealer .. Upon verifying vin no's it seems the one flashed week before isnt the right one ... Seems as though it got flashed for another 08 5.3 w/4L60E instead of an '08 Denali with 6L80E ...go figure that so now it shifts right out of first and into 4th it feels like ...but only one code now saying communication error. So now after verifying the correct '08 vin i need i will be back to get dealer flash it Friday then will see about tuning it.... it shud communicate after the flash with the right vin puts the ecm and tcm back on same os .. It will have 6.2 6spd program so i will need some tuning for my 5.3.... I may actually have it driveable again lol .. Will update after flashing Friday

Update .. Well trans is still a no go .. It would accept the reflash with the Denali VIN but the TCM would not complete the download .. So best guess was there has to had been a TCM change at sum point in 2010 model yr gm veh with 6L80es cause iamkeniff had success with his 2010 6L80E into his 08 gmc .. The tech dug sum and found two diff part numbers for a 09 and a 10 6L80e but actually after i got the numbers from the parts dept i researched online with them and those were not correct numbers for the respective TCMs ...
I did however dig fir several hours online and i found the issue .. From GM 6L80E parts diagrams i found that in 2010 model years fir camaros(niff got his from a camaro) and 2010 GM trucks had TCM changes .. It says up to 11/01/09 production 2010s have the the TcM as in 07, 08, 09 camaros and trucks (knowing that camaros have the flange type yoke that niff had to deal with) .. The TCMs are verified by matching part numbers .. After 11/01/09 the production 2010s have the new TCm that i infortunately have the pleasure of having in my trans ... Only thing i can do now is aquire the correct TCM from 07 08 or 09 and install in my present trans or try n sell the one i have in now and find an 09 6L80E .. Im leaning on tryin get the correct TCM and swap it myself .. Working 7 nights this week and at least 6 nights a week all rest of the month so not much time to spare but will get this thing done one way or another .. When i have time i will post the part numbers and a link to the trans diagrams showing the list of trannys .. Hitting the sheets for now and getting in QT with the family when i get up before heading to work again .. Damm da bad luck

Cool

I know there were a couple peeps out there with 07 08 and 09s that were looking at the swap for an 6L80E so heres the links to see the different TCMs in respective model yrs with 6L80Es (07 and 08 Denalis had 6L80Es) We need the older TCM in the 6L80E
07-09 and 10s with Julian date 09-305 (11/01/09) and prior use gm part number 24241890 for TCM .... Look at no. 614 on the parts list
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Fits: 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali 2WD | Nalley Buick GMC Brunswick

For 2010 GMC (or chevy i checked both) with Julian date 09-306 (11/02/09) on forward use part number 24251412 for TCM look at no. 614 on parts lists it has two number 614s... Theres your difference....
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Fits: 2010 GMC Sierra 2WD | Nalley Buick GMC Brunswick we dont want this one .. This is the one i have

I looked up the 2010 camaros and they have the exact same Julian dates for the TCMs as well so iamkeniff got some luck with his and had the older TCM ... but you can navigate the Nalley site and get the other yr models for camaros ithat have the old TCM f the need arises ... Im not LOL ...

There are even some 2011 GM trucks with the 07 08 09 TCM designation but not many ... If you check the link and look at all the model years listed it shows some 2011s as well with the older TCM ... Thats why we thought the first trans that i got would work because it was a 2011 but that is a slim chance that you would get the older TCM as i now know ....

Im just wanting to help others so we dont make all the same mistakes ... Iamkeniff found out the ECM has to stay as 08 and cant flash a new VIN from 09 and up OS in it as it will fry your ECM so you have to flash an 07-08 Denali VIN .. And the tech said if we put a 10 or newer ECM in the 08 it would probably not work the dash and other stuff up front so im not even going there ... Best bet is an 07 08 or 09 truck 6L80E for those of us wanting a 6L80E in our 07-09s NNBS that did not have one from the factory ...

Next for me is find out about the TCM swap if i can do this (Guess whos gunna be the guinea pig again!!!!!) cause im pretty sure im just gunna get one and drop the pan and see whats up !!!! .... Will update whenn i fail or succeed!!!!!

UPDATE ... got the 2010 ECM unlocked and flashed both '10 ECM and 6L80E and everything works .. no issues with BCM or anything along that line .. the tech says its saying that i need BCM reflash to new system but we were afraid to flash 10 system on the 08 bcm so we left it. Everything is working fine...Only issue is the engine now its pulling timing and killing when you get on it and off and also at idle its barely runnin .. i drove to work and most of that issue is resolved but its definitely needing tune you can tell its slow response and sluggish a lot of time.. figuring the 2010 VVT 5.3 program in the ECM is pulling crazy timing for my 08 5.3 with DOD .. trying to get that worked out ASAP ...
