The pistons are the same ones used in 4.8's.Yes they are flat top.

Hmmm so, whats the compression in the new 5.3's then in stock form? A good set of heads and cams should make close to or a lil above 400rwhp no?

they're all flat tops now...the heads on 4.8 and 5.3 are 243/799 with larger CC than previous 5.3 heads

is this the same for a 07 classic also? i have been told yes and then i was told no. my truck has the same warrenty as the new 07's. i would think everything would be the same with the classics too.
