Kinda sounds like a simple choice between spending a lot of money on a durable rebuild that will hold up to the hair drier - or spending a lot of money on repeatedly rebuilding stock motors that are over-stressed by the hair drier.
I say stroke it and build it like a bank vault.

To elaborate: there's a good reason that the Lingenfelter 427 supercharger package costs $50K, and that they they can give a 3 yr / 36K mile warranty on a 750 hp motor. Some of their parts list:
- 4340 billet steel connecting rods
- 4340 forged steel crankshaft
- JE Forged aluminum pistons
- Tool steel pins
- Heavy duty inconnel exhaust valves
- Competition Cams dual valve springs
- Titanium spring retainers
- Forged steel crankshaft
- File fit rings, heavy duty rod & main bearings, head gaskets, head bolts
Somebody with tools and skills, or a good shop without the "big name," could do it for a lot less than $50K I'm sure, but still ... maintaining that kind of power just ain't gonna be cheap. IMHO
