In the older 07-10 HD models the lower bumper and hood are the same as the 1500 just the top bumper cap is taller to make up for the taller grille. In the 11-12 HD models they redesigned the lower bumper and hood giving them there own style and got rid of the 1500 parts. To me a very nice improvement!

does anybody know if the emblem on the 09 sierra 1500 grill will fit the 2011 sierra 2500 grill??

 

I think it's the same. There is a post of a swap done to the Denali hd front and I wanna say they used the same emblem.

Yes with some slight modification. You need to swap over the top cap mounts from the 1500 bumper to the hd bumper as they are oriented different. Without doing this your stock top cap will not clip in. Also note that the newer style HD bumpers have a different bend to them at the ends compared to the 1500 bumper so a little tweaking might have to be done so it looks and fits right. For those who are concerned about doing the full Sierra HD swap its really easy.

All you need is the mounts that bolt to the HD bumper, can keep the stock 1500 frame horns, cut and lower the HD mounts about 2 inches and re weld. The frame mounts give you plenty of play to adjust and line everything up as long as you lower the mounts enough. Heres a pic courtesy of another member on where to cut... Heres a buddys truck I recently did... Took no longer then an hour to modify the mounts and go from 1500 to HD minus the hood.
