Question GMT900 Brake Upgrades

Ok I have searched this thread high and low and cant find any threads about this already. I am looking for info on upgrading my 2007 Silverado 1500 rotors and calipers. If there are OEM upgrades available, (like F-Body's using Corvette and Cadillac parts), then please post what you know.

I'm trying to stay away from high dollar kits like Baer, SSBC etc.

I just put the summit brand drilled and slotted with bendix pads on my wife's 08 suburban and after about 1000 miles I love them, time will tell what the long term will be but right now they are awesome. It makes me want to do the hydroboost conversion on my truck really bad. Her truck will actually throw stuff around when you hit the brakes, my truck only throughs my prayers around when i hit them.

Closest thing to a direct swap would be finding a 15" rotor and using Z06 calipers. You need a bracket to mount them to the spindle, and depending on the wheels you should have enough clearance.

Being that all OEM rotors are a single piece rotor/hub assembly, you're not going to find something that's going to bolt right up.

Subscribing.... I'm also curious about this for my 2010. I looked at Baer systems.... they have a few less expensive kits....

Iirc no one has made a bracket to mount the z06 calipers to the nnbs spindles... Only a short production run for the nbs was custom done by some on here I think.

I have the SSBC 3-piston caliper upgrade kit with their slotted rotors on the front of my '07 Tahoe, and Powerslot rotors with hawk pads out back.

The SSBC kit fits in the stock 17 inch wheels and bolts right up, and braided lines are included. They also sell a 14 inch version for bigger wheels, but its more money. I spent a little over $1000 for the SSBC kit.

Braking was greatly improved over stock with this set up.
