This looks like a viable option. This is what i'm going to use on my truck.
They're listed as a Summit brand but I know that they just take one of their manufacturers products and brand it with their name. Like my "Summit" drop shackles are actually Ground Force. even came with GF decals and instructions.
Yeah, it's a rebranded SSBC kit. Do you have stock spindles?

It looks like the 1500HD rear disk brakes can replace the drum brakes the standard 1500 has. But it looks like im gonna get an upgraded rotor for the front with some good pads, and just leave the drums in the back and put a good pad in there. Maybe eventually we will find out some nicer and cheap replacements are available.

That's good to know. I think they make decent products. I currently have stock spindles. Are they a direct bolt on?

Did anyone ever use the Summit Big Brake Kit?

So no then? If not is there an inexpensive upgrade that someone has tried?

Good call... My wheels are 83 lbs a piece... And I am wondering if there is any gain to be had by going with different components.

I'm also looking for info to run the Z06 setup on a friends 2009 Avalanche.

are brackets available?

I found info on most items needed, but nothing more on brackets or if they work on the later models.

With the big rotors on our trucks, I would suggest upgrading the pads first. I answered on my phone the first time, not realizing that you had a 6.2, but my brakes seem to work pretty well and my wheel/tire combo isn't exactly featherweight either. If I were to change it up, I would start with a pad swap, unless you want to throw the coin at a nonfactory setup. I really don't think we have a lot of options from the factory right now. I would love to stuff CTS-V calipers on there, but that won't likely be happening with my 17s and who knows what that would take to engineer.

the nbs c6 z06 brackets may work on the nnbs since the factory front brakes are identical to the 06-07 nbs fronts. i am running nnbs tahoe front brakes on my 03 sierra.

just upgrade to hydroboost and you will be fine.

as for swapping out the rear drums for disk, nnbs single piston rears or nbs two piston rears will bolt right up.

one thing to be careful with on the rear disk swap is the brake bias/proportioning.

1500hd calipers may not work. the brake flanges on the axle are completely different than the 1500.
1500hd rotors will definitely not work as they are 8 lug

the h3 has factory 4 piston front brakes.....never looked too deeply into it but it may be an option.
