X2. My last later model truck was an 09 and all it could do was squeak and rattle. It was an SLE and that stupid cap above the gauges squeaked constantly as did the extended cab doors. Funny as the job site had a whole fleet of them varying from 2009-2011 and they all did the same thing. I went backwards, run an 05 and will never revert the other way. I will buy another brand of truck before I buy a 900.

Mine is so tight and quiet theres not a single noise in fact. Curiously seeing as your a tech can you check the country these noisy trucks are built in? mines from Ft Wayne and I wonder if the crappy ones are from Mexico. You check the first number of the VIN. 1 is USA, 2 is Canada, 3 is Mexico.

All ours were HD's and built in Fort Wayne. Doubt it really matters where it comes from.

Well mines not an HD but its quieter than my two Cadillacs it doesnt make a peep. Ive had tons of trucks over the years. Multiples from every generation from 55 and up and out of the box this GMT900 is the quietest and smoothest ( It is car like suspension granted its not the "truckest" by far ) plus the cornering grip is a HUGE leap over the previous years. I like it

Not to mention FaaaaaaaaaAAST!!!

I haven't ridden in a 900 that didn't rattle creak or make some ugly annoying noise. The fast thing I chalk up to perception nowdays after my four 6.2 truck experiences..... and the HD 6 liters struggle to get out of their own way. I buy most trucks usually for work purposes and not to be drag strip queens. The one exception to that is my 94 but I just like the looks of it and it's stupid clean.

I have read that there is problems with the crew cabs making noise but mines an ex cab so maybe that has something to do with it. Its an 11 model as well if that makes any difference I bought it last sept. My trucks usually serve as some function of DD use and towing my toys which for both this truck does very well.

Cant please em all I guess sorry for your luck Vmax

I honestly don't actually care so it's all good on my end of the world. The 09 that creaked for 2 years with me was an extended cab and it was the rear doors and the dash that made noise. GM did nothing about it, much like every other problem the truck ever had so I just dealt with it until I was able to dump it. I just won't ever bother buying one, simple. Lot's of people do, and everyone has their own opinion of it. Once I wear the 05 out ( it has 116000 kms so that will be quite a while) I will buy another low mile used truck for a fraction of the cost of a new one and charge it out everyday making nothing but money on it. As long as it doesn't fall apart and serves it purpose, I'm happy

My GMT900 has one squeak by the trailer brake controller, but I have lived with it so far. Its a crew cab.

I think as soon as I saw the interior of the GMT900, it made the GMT800's look like they were built by fisher-price. I always hated that. But it felt the same way when I moved from my 94 sierra to the 2004 silverado....

Most of the trucks that I work on are made in the U.S. It doesn't seem to make a difference. Everything about the 900's is made very cheaply due to GM's efforts to make their cafe better. This results in cheap lighter parts to save weight everywhere you can. In multiple cases I've worked on trucks that were sitting outside and you will pull the door handles and they will break because they are so cheap. If you don't let them sit inside for an hour to warm up you will break every plastic part you touch.
