GMT900 has SPOILED me...

My GMT900 has one squeak by the trailer brake controller, but I have lived with it so far. Its a crew cab.
I think as soon as I saw the interior of the GMT900, it made the GMT800's look like they were built by fisher-price. I always hated that. But it felt the same way when I moved from my 94 sierra to the 2004 silverado....

Lol. The absolute tasteless plastic dash of the 900's is no improvement over th 800's. But let's add some more cheesy woodgrain trash to the SLT/LTZ's or Denali's because that makes it better right. Realistically function has to prevail over finish at times and the 900 isn't terrible there. Trailer brake controller is in a dumb spot but they were running out of spaces so they have to compromise. My gripe on the 900's over the 800's is the seats, they lack support and bolstering even in the loaded trucks. If they improved that the interiors would be okay. I still think they are ugly, but so is my 05's and so is my old 94's....... and who cares.

I've never liked wood grain on any car or truck (I have the actual "truck" dash) and they both have plastic dashes so I don't see the point of even mentioning that. The controller is pretty much where I've always put them too. Except its not an eyesore now.
At one time, I didn't like the GMT800s. I would try to find bad things about them because I didn't have one, then I bought one. Suddenly, I liked them.... That happens pretty often with people.
I will, however, agree on the seats. They keep getting harder and harder. It seems they design them for fatter and fatter people. Nothing will match the comfort of the seats on my 94.

I have the factory high back buckets in my 94 and they are really nice to sit in. Sure the dash is the lego block era but meh, you get used to it. The 05 I have has nice seats too. It's cloth and oddly enough I find the leather version of the same seat less comfortable, just seem to be firmer. The 09 brought memories of adolecense and riding a school bus, lol. Not quite that bad but not much better either. I like bolstered seats that wrap around your body, not flat dining room chair type. My 06 SRT8 Charger had about the best seats I have ever had actually.
Maybe one of the 2013 design changes will improve the seats.

Didn't the ss trucks have inflatable side bolsters? My wifes 09 civic si has badass seats good lumbar support and large side bolsters. I think coban is right though that they're making these seats for big people these days.

I know for a fact thats why they are making the seats so firm these days. Bigger people would eventually short out the passenger presence system by crushing it over time. It was costing GM too much money by replacing them under warranty.
