As much as I like the sound of a flowmaster, chambered mufflers suck for flow.

 

Yeah. I'm gonna change it. It was on the truck when I bought it. I'm not sure what I want though. Maybe a 6.2 muffler.

 

That's also a chambered muffler. Go with a straight through design like a magnaflow or borla.

 

I'm getting a black bear tune real soon. Will it be a "seat of the pants" difference?

 

Yes you will. It will mostly be from transmission tuning and removal of some torque management. Most new trucks are tuned on the safe side with the trans so you can't make full use of the hp you have. As far as the stock 6.2 muffler, if you could find an entire system from a 6.2 it would flow more than enough for the 5.3

I know tm is killing it cause it really pics up about 50 mph. All it takes is $$$$$

 

MBRP mufflers also are straight through and my catback kit was 1/2 the price of magnaflow/borla/corsa. get a tune and then you will be stuck in where you want to be next. either cam/stall/gears/headers/built trans or nitrous/FI.

 

I'm looking into gears first. I wanna go 4.10 and stay with a 17 tire. I'm gonna do a can swap and did delete, just gotta save a little.

 

Does it have 3:42's now? If so the 4:10's will be a good addition.
