Leveling kit rocks. No bias here. Lol. But seriously, I love my 285/70-17s and the ability to drive everywhere my Cherokee went on 31s in a vehicle that is way more comfortable and useful.

not sure if i'll ever do it but i like the way they look. i really have no need to sit taller or have a more aggressive tire. the only time i'll ever use 4 wheel is the 1 or 2 days we get ice and i have to go to work, a boat ramp, a wet yard that i don't want to tear up, etc. got the 4x4 just for times i need it and resale. i don't go 4 wheeling anymore cause i hate scratches, spending the entire next day washing my truck and wearing out all the parts faster.

I'm the other way; the scratches suck but it's a truck, so I move on. I have a blast running around in the desert with my ride. If I was still living in Michigan I might have left the ride height and factory tires alone, but here, I was slotting it into the void left when I broke my Cherokee and I needed it to take some trails that would have given it quite a beating if I had left it stock.

different strokes for different folks. i use to 4 wheel a lot and would with the right vehicle. i just can't justify doing it in a $43,000 dollar truck.

I completely understand. I'm one of those guys who would buy a Z06 and go to the strip, autocross, and standing mile events just to beat on it without getting into trouble. I almost did, but the wife wanted me to have a truck first. I literally do everything I did in the Jeep, just a bit more carefully and a lot more comfortably. Plus this thing doesn't overheat and has more ***** when you don't know if you can make. Besides, you feel like a baller when you beat on a $40k+ vehicle

now i'm there with you on the Z06! i'd beat on it all day long. less chance of f'ing it up. i wouldn't mind a little trail riding in the truck but around here it gets real hairy real fast (hill country tx). a lot of rock, tight turns, hard drop offs, steep approach angles.

Hence the leveling kit and more aggressive rubber on my truck, LOL. I would be messing it up more than a couple stratches if I hadn't done that. There's a couple times where I would have scraped on the approach angle and a couple of rocks I ran over that would have been scarier with a factory setup. But that why we got a truck instead of the Z; we wanted to be able to go everywhere the Cherokee went and have a nice capable rig for in town and on trips too. Not to mention that it accomodates the dogs perfectly (flip up the seats in the back and in they go) and I've already moved a big-screen tv, a set of cabinets, and a refrigerator for friends. I still drool whenever I pass a C6 Z06, but there was no easy win-win answer to that dilemma and I think I made the right choice for now, although the car guys at work give me **** for it.

your story sounds so familiar to mine. i have always been a truck and mustang fan. i've had too many of both. i was considering the new 2011 5.0 mustang but ended up with the truck just cause they are so much more useful. i really wanted the mustang deep in my heart.

Yeah, that's the same story. However, if left to my own devices I would have gotten the Vette and picked up an older truck after a little while. The wife liked the idea of me finally getting my Corvette but she really pushed me to buy a truck instead. I'll try to pay this beast off quick so I can follow it up with the C6Z before they get too high in mileage or GM comes out with a Verge everybody hates and the value spikes still see a 5.0 Mustang in your future?
