Who wants to trade me their black 1500 hood for my black HD hood?May be interested in trading more front end components for your conversion. And before anyone asks I know what is involved with these swaps. Who in the southwest is game?

im pretty sure theyre a direct fit .... but dont take my word for it ..

 

Only differences I can think of is the grille and the hood and I dont think you need both to swap either of them.

 

I have a black truck and would trade ya in a heartbeat...the downside is im in south tx.

 

The hoods are a direct fit. The grill situation is a little different. If I am not mistaken, there is a height difference in between the grills(the HD is taller). Also there may be a profile difference between the two as well( the HD grill might stick out a little futher). The HD grill also carries its top trim piece on the hood. Here is a pick of my truck before it was lowered for you to compare.

Ok guys, spent quite a bit of time today looking and measuring. The hoods will interchange as we thought, but as I posted, the grill is going to be the real pain in the ***. the center section of the HD hood and grill protrude further forward than the 1500. From the inside edge of the headlight, the HD grill is almost 2" further forward of the front most edge of the headlight(at the top of the grill). I am not speaking of the center of the grill, but the edge nearest to the headlights. Then there is the issue of the grill height, the HD grill is 15" top to bottom(not measuring the hood trim piece or to it) just the shell itself. So the HD grill to match the hood for the 1500 is going to be between 2-3" too tall, and the 1500 grill will be the same amount too short for the HD guys going 1500. 1500 guys can swap over most of the HD front end and get the taller grill, but HD guys going 1500 will need a custom solution. Everything 1500 to HD looks similar, but is just different enough between the headlights to make it a pain in the ***. So who is still game?
