Anyone with tips on how to remove your headliner? In this thread click here I said I thought my roof was leaking and after doing some different things I thought it was the third brake light and I thought I had stopped it.
Since then I have had the leak return and resealed the light. Just today the leak is back and it's bad. I have sealed up that 3rd light but I'm thinking of taking it off and resealing it so that it won't be coming back off but before I do that I'd like to remove the headliner and run some water all over the back of the cab and see if I can't locate just where the water is coming from.

If anyone has any advise on either how to remove the headliner or other ideas on the leak I would be grateful for that info.

I pulled mine out to get recovered in suede, its a bit of a task. There's a wiring harness that is glued to the headliner board that is strung across the front for the upper center console stuff and lights, the sun visors, goes to the middle for the dome light and runs back to the third brake light. Also there will be the sensor above the drivers seat for the automatic climate control. The glue used to attach that is a SOB, you might be able to get away just pulled stuff and dropping the headliner down a little ways.

You'll need to undo the A pillar covers. Passenger side you need to remove the grab handle, two bolts holds the handle and the cover on. Driver side has one screw at the top. The sunvisors have 3 screws holding them on. One screw each holding the little clips for the sunvisor on. The center console piece, you'll have to remove the dome light lense, theres two torx screws holding that in plus some clips. Give it a pull and it will come down. Center dome light, undo the lense and the whole assembly will come out, you'll figure that out, its easy.

On your crew, you'll have to undo the plastics on the B pillars and maybe the seat belts. Mine is an extended cab, so I can't help ya much on a crew. The rear, there's plastics that will have to be un done. Should be two little plugs that go into the roof towards the back.

That covers most of it I think. You'll be able to get it down so you can see the roof towards the third brake light.

Yeap on a crewcab you need to take off the seat beat to be able to remove that molding , I replace my headliner and had to take the front seats out, maybe you just can fold back he seats and drop the headliner and be able to take a look for the leak like that.
