1. deleted via tuning if a NON vvt aftermarket cam is installed, which requires an ls2 cam gear, timing cover and a reg ls based style cam.. (ex. 3 bolt cam).. and something that i might no remember right now
2. or if u install a vvt cam along with the installation of cam phaser kit to limit degrees of timing, comp and mast both have a few of those.. and those do require some vvt tweeken...
wheatly or others can chime in and better explain.. still trying to figure it out myself lol

VVT tuning turns in superb results but for each change in cam timing it also messes with ign timing and fuel trims so it adds a whole new dimension of complexity to tuning. Heres a quote from Patrick G over at Ls1tech
EFI Live does a great job with VVT. HP Tuners also can adjust VVT although I have not seen that it can adjust some of the key VVT timing tables. Perhaps they now have it covered with a newer beta version.
We picked up around 40 lb ft of torque in the mid-range by playing with cam phasing on the Denali. We also gained around 20 rwhp at 6000 rpm by retarding the cam more than stock.

Yeah VVT tuning is still pretty new to the GM scene but as it unfolds VVT is a HUGE part of the future for GM and the aftermarket. Theres really no arguing against its benefits really it gives you more power under the curve than a static cam ever could. The only real issue we have right now is PTV clearance as this is the limiting factor.
Im build a 6.2L t56 87 Camaro swap retaining VVT now. 222/230 .600 cam LT's etc etc. Should cook along quite nicely once its all said and done. Especially considering I'll be at 3300lbs ( already had an LS1 in there and weighed it so thats how I know 3321 or sumthin )
