Default How big of a differnce does a tune make?

I have an '08 Silverado VMax. I love the truck with one exception, it feels SLOW. I had a '03 Silverado SS prior to the Vmax, with just bolt on and stock tune and it seemed like it was way faster.

I know part of the reason is 24's the previous owner installed, but it still feels like the truck is sluggish down low. On the freeway at speed it gets up and goes when you stomp on, but as far as around town, stop light to stop light, it feels sluggish. I know with the TQ management and DOD and all that crap it may be hog tied at the moment. So, if I go get it tuned after i do the exhaust (longtubes and duals) will there be a noticeable difference?

It is money well spent. The Blackbear tune I have is the best mod I have done to my truck.

I honestly could not feel a seat of the pants difference between the Dynomax 3" single catbackback vs the stock exhaust other than noise. Others may have a different experience

I honestly could not feel a seat of the pants difference between the Airaid MIT/AFE dry filter vs the stock air intake other than noise. Others may have a different experience.

I just installed a Circle D 278mm 2600-2800 converter today and I can definately feel it in the seat of my pants. A little early but so far...I like it.

Get the tune, your truck will feel alot different.....in a good way.

A tune helps out allot. Most likely one of the best bangs for your buck so to speak.

The tune makes a pritty good differance. It also makes your truck run correctly and not choked by the epa as far as running too lean. you also will need a tune to do any real mods

On my 06 Vmax, after lt's and exhaust, I got a Nelson street tune and it ran like the truck was a 1,000 pounds lighter.

Before tune with LTs, exhaust and CAI truck was better but nothing crazy, with tune it chirps tires on 1-2 shift, never did that before with other mods or bone stock. I ran with a nissan 350z last night in my 4x4 quad cab truck. I dont think the 19yr old driving his dads roadster knew what to think when he couldnt outrun a big *** truck.
