why not just get the denali with the real motor the dmax and alli with an all new frame and 765 lb ft of torque with a warranty

when i was looking for mine i was very stubborn , had to be block white or dark grey that was about my only broad choice , it had to be an ltz with nav . finally found one that a 3500 not a 2500 like i wanted and it had a long bed . now im happy i got the long bed because i can still fit alot of stuff back there and close the tail gate , where as a shortbed i cant put any 4x8 sheets of anything and be able to close it up . all in all my only complaint about the nnbs interior is squeaks , they are loud but , i just installed a decent sub to drowned them out .

love the way the new truck drive, looks , but the mpg with a dpf is stupid , im just to scared to take it off here in so cal.

Default All Terrain 6.2

I have had my GMC All Terrain 4X4 6.2 for 8000 miles now. It has been a great truck so far. Just pulled a flat bed trailer loaded with a car 1000 miles to an open road race in northern Nevada. Tow speed was 75 mph and I still got over 14 mpg on both legs. The six speed auto had no trouble with shifting up or down in the normal mode. Had no trouble passing vehicles on 2 lane roads. Had to watch the speed a bit because it did not take long to hit 90 mph while passing with that 6.2 engine. The truck will get 19 mpg all day long on the interstate highways (with no headwind) The truck has done everything I have asked it to do. Although I am not sure why they eliminated the instant mpg? My previous trucks were a 1999 Silverado 4X4 and a 2003 Silverado 4X4. They were very good trucks, but this one is a step better.

Theres a few reasons for not going the dmax denali route.

-Im not paying 60K for a truck period
-If Im going to get a 3/4ton truck again its going to have a long bed and the denali is only shortbed at the moment
-Im selling my fifth wheel and will only be towing car trailers and less than 10K
-My dad has an F350 dually I can use at any time if I need to haul something heavy
-I want something decently quick to DD

For the price of a good condition used denali 1500 I can throw a few choice mods on it and have a low 12 second reliable truck that I can haul the family around in just fine. This truck will fill the needs I have at the moment. If a new job prospect works out and the new Ford diesel/tranny work out well Ill probably pick up an F350 dually. Theyre nicer IMO and have more room inside but I wouldnt even contemplate buying one till theyve been out for a couple years and people have beat the crap out of them.

Once the finances recover from buying my wifes car, Ill really get serious about looking, I dont like vehicle payments so with hers being paid off and it will give me a bit more time to save more money and coincendentally the prices of the used denalis will be going down

I test drove one over the holiday weekend with my dad since my mom was looking at the yukon denalis and ugly *** 2010 cadillac srxs(which she ended up buying ) and I love it. Its like an SSS on steroids

A T76, turbo cam and baby stall would be perfect in that thing and make me happy for a while

you dont have to get a DENALI to get the 6.2 and 6 spd.. i just bought a 2010 sierra sle 2wd with a 6.2L and a 6 spd.. with a 14 bolt rear... 30,800 after 5000 rebate

Not a bad price for sure. That is getting close to the price of used 07 Denali's.

I bought my 06 loaded out ccsb 4wd dmax for 26OTD in Jan 08, that truck stickered for 46K. The loaded out Denalis Im looking at sticker for 45K and Ive found quite a few 07s for 24-26K asking price so I know I can get them a couple grand cheaper OTD.

Ive already built my fair share of hot rods, Im not big on working on them anymore, I want to get in and drive. Ive got too much else on my plate and with my son being born in September that will only get worse. Id rather pick up a Denali thats a couple years old with 50K on it for the price of a brand new 2wd cloth seated cc. Thats just me, to each their own, I need people like you guys out there to lose a bunch of money on their purchase so I can get a good deal. Im too poor to pay for my rich blood new, so used it is for me
exactly. btw congrats on the kiddo!

I like mine overall so far. Got it in January of 2007. About to roll 90,000 miles. There are a few things I hate though. The DOD (afm), 4L60E, low stall torque converter, terrible stock tune, and rear drum brakes. I really hate the feel of a truck with the DOD, but not an issue on the 6.2L I dont think. That sums up my dislikes. If you are looking at a Denali, then you shouldn't have to worry about anything other that the crap stock tune. The only problems I have had are a new battery, and a replaced cd player under warranty.

I love my 08 bought it with 14k miles on it last may, now has 38k miles. Does everything i need it to just wish i had the 6.2 but the 5.3 will work for me for the time. working on getting a tune and lowering the back end some.

I want awd or 4wd, and if I remember right your truck is pretty much a base model right? I want all the bells and whistles, my Z71 is a very low option truck just electric driver seat wih power windows and locks thats it. My dmax was loaded out and the loaded out NNBS trucks are even nicer. Plus my wife misses the seat warmers, she gets cold really easy

Pretty much everything you said there wont be a factor for the truck Im looking at, which is a good thing for me since it sounds like you enjoy the rest of the truck
