How to get rid of CEL after cam swap?
This weekend I finished up installing a Z06 cam on an '08 RCSB 4.8L and was very impressed how well it worked on a bone stock truck. It needed no tuning whatsoever on startup but gained a lot of power with a street tune. Now the only problem is the CEL (check engine light) is on and shows a random cylinder missfire. Is there any way to get rid of this?
A friend had the same problem when he swapped an LQ9 in his 98 TransAm, and was never able to get rid of it. The car ran perfect and even had a few bottles of spray through it without a hiccup. Any help is appreciated!

The truck was tuned the day after and the light went away for about a half day then popped up again. Truck has no problems whatsoever at any RPM but light still comes on even after being erased with a handheld scanner.

Ok let me relay this info and send this guy back to the tuner. The local tuner I would assume knows what he is doing since he works on lots of fast trucks. Im gonna double check all the ignition components just to be sure cuz I know everything was working perfectly when the guy left my house. The truck has less than 20K miles so Im sure it just needs a quick adjustment on the tuners end. Thanks for the quick responses guys!

check what code it is first... there are a few that lead from the BCM to TCM to PCM.. I had a problem with my fuel pump on my '08, the code was P069E..I couldn't disable it whatsoever and starting the motor in the morning was a pain in the ***...
It might also be the cam sensor... alot of the NNBS trucks are getting codes with cam swaps that can't be disabled..

The truck runs flawlessly from idle to redline and everything in between at part throttle and WOT. I know its already been tuned for the cam but the light won't go away. The truck has been sent back to the tuner for a tweak but Im waiting to hear about the results.
