Question I need a tune tryed to play with a toyota

So I was on my way to work in the morning and a toyota tundra with the 5.7l was behind me on a corner soon as a turn on the road he pulls becide me I go WOT to 70+mph so dose he and he walks me pretty decent then he stayed ahed of me after the pass. I was pissed my 09 5.3l ccsb 6l80e didn't have quite enough power to take him. However he may have floored it first who knows. He wanted the race bad. I was thinking damm if I had the 6.2l in this truck then I could have held him off im sure. Enyway now I want a tune and intake for my 5.3l is a blackbear the best tune? and will this do the trick to spank the toyota next time? Thanks.

Id save the money on the intake and put it towards a pair of LT headers, then get your tune. That should get a 5.7 yota

I agree. LT's and tune should spank it. Tundras imo, are the fastest trucks after 6.2's.

Thanks for the tips. Are LT headers a easy bolt on job?

They can be. Just be sure to spray some pb blaster on the manifold collector studs. Ive always had problems with those not coming lose. Other than that its pretty easy.

Even the 6.2 can have problems with the tundras. You will need at least some long tubes and a tune to even begin to play.

I doubt that my 6.2 will be as fast as my tundra until I at least get long tubes and a real tune. I ran my silverado with a gtech yesterday and got a disappointing best 1/4 of 14.8...a stock tundra can do that and my silverado has a ported tb, vararam tripower intake, and diablosport tune.

I expected a low 14 on my silverado ;-(
