...I'm reading on here they are not really needed with a 6speed but I'm not doing a cam or headers because I have a warranty and don't want to void it buy doing something permanent to the motor. I think gears wont void the warranty other then on the axles. I have a tuner, 90mm TB, a MIT and will do a Borla Touring cat back.
If I were changing gears, I'd just buy Motives for about $200. I've used them many times in the past, with good luck. The noise usually comes from improper setup. The pinion depth has to be set perfectly, or it will whine.

OEM for the win. Go AAM.
Also, ANY dealer can tell if you currently have an aftermarket tune. You currently have an aftermarket tune (a shitty canned tune is still a tune) so they will void your powertrain warranty if they find out (which they will if they hook up a Tech2). The debate is whether they can see whether there was a tune after the factory tune has been reloaded; all the evidence I have seen says they can't on our trucks, but they will see flash history on the next generation.

I use the value gears from Rons Machine Service. I have 4.56's. They are quiet as can be. My break in procedure consisted of driving off the lift, pulling out into the street, doing a burnout and making a pass I've made many many passes and they're still quiet as can be. Setup definitely plays a big part in noise reduction
