Keep stock motor/trans/parts?
I'm trying to decide if I should keep my stock engine or sell it? I have a replacement with forged internals that I'm going to run with a FLT trans. I haven't ordered the trans yet and can't decide if I should send mine back as a core or pay the extra core charge. I have a friend that wants to buy the motor but I thought it might be nice to have if I ever want to put it back stock to sell.

If you have the 6.0 there a bit more used then my basic 4.8, but motors can delvelop problems if left to store with out perodic checks. Rust.
Plus they take up quite a bit of floor space that you will want, and there heavy to move around.
I say sell them and save the money to buy new used ones if you want to return to stock.

I was thinking if I did keep it I would try and put it in the basement. At least there it would be climate controlled. If I kept the truck another 5-6 years would it even be worth swaping parts around? What would the performance engine and trans be worth?
