lifters,heads and injecters
well on my quest 4 more power i went with the texas speed 2.5 heads milled 2 59cc. also put ls7 lifters, and some ls2 corvette injecters.truck fired up well and sounds healthy. now 4 the problem my oil pressure dropped from 30ish at idle 2 10ish. truck feels fine havent got it on the dyno till mid week. so if anyone has swapped lifters 2 the ls7 had a similar issue? let me know

I had to replace my lifters because they failed and damaged my cam. when i replaced the cam and lifters i had low oil pressure but that cover resolved it. There are some people running their trucks with low readings but it's better to replace the cover. It's not that expensive and takes about 30-60 minutes.

1) Were the damaged cam lobes the exact lobes where the AFM/DOD lifters rode?
2) The LS7 intake cover: Does this effetively block-off all AFM/DOD oil distribution ports?
3) After some time now, what do you feel actually caused the camshaft to get scored?

For the first question I did notice that the DOD lifters had the most damage. It's a little hard to narrow down, but not impossible. The problem is that you would have to try to see how the lifter were configured and they are not exactly in a pattern.
Yes the ls7 intake does effectively block off the AFM/DOD distribution ports. In fact it does not have any of the passages. Furthermore, it has seals to cover the holes where the solenoids would supply hydraulic pressure to the AFM/DOD lifters.
For the last question, i feel that the DOD lifters were the cause for the damaged cam infact the reason i replaced them is because one of them had failed completely and was bleeding out causing the engine to misfire. How the cam got damaged is a little hard to understand since the roller on the lifters were not seized but from what people tell me is that it is caused by over reving or improper load so im assuming that in this case the lifters were failing and may have been riding with improper load.
