No, only a tune and maybe a CAI...

Bolts on and cam we're seeing 300-320 on a 4.8 and anywhere between 320-350 on the 5.3...

Played around with a friends 5.3 silverado, and we managed to squeeze 357hp and 346tq outta the truck.. mods are American racing headers, slp UD, Volant intake, Patriot doubles, GT-11 and corsa touring.. Takes of like a rocket past 3500+rpm, no TC so a little slow off the line..

Default 6.2L swap questions

Thanks for everybody's input. From what I understand getting a 5.3L to that level of power would require a lot of part changing and would really push the motor to the limit. I am definitely willing to consider swapping a 6.2L with the 6 speed and add the bolt-ons. This swap really shouldn't be that hard in my opinion because the are put into this truck in the crew cab and denali. Here are some questions you guys can probably answer.

1. Do the crew cab and denali have heavier duty parts such as the radiator and rear end, etc.
2. Does anyone know exactly what extra parts are required to do the swap and how to do it.
3. Does anyone know of any resources besides this site that would help.
4. Has anyone on here done this swap or know someone who has.

From what I have read on this topic there is some pretty conflicting information from different people and I would like to sort it out before a decide to go this route. Thanks.

if u wanna swap engine only, then its simple just engine and tune, but for the trans it need many things i suggest 6.2 and an aftermarket 4l60
