I'm running an LS6 cam and I wish I would have gotten a bigger cam it makes ok power I guess. The best I went was 13.2@102.8 on motor and 12.3@114 on bottle both with a stock stall. I used it because of how streetable it is and I was planning boost eventually. I drive my truck almost 600 miles a week! As far as using an LS7 or LS9 cam I don't think they would work in you engine and they will be expensive compared to an LS6 cam. I paid $125 for the cam, yellow valve springs, and pushrods.

This is exactly what i wanted to hear.. I too drive the hell out of my truck, it is my DD for 60% of the year so i wanted mild but with a power increase..

I think i will probably end up with the LS6 cam.

If i go with the LS6 cam will i have to replace the lifters or can i just keep the stockers?

My 4.8 as we all know didnt come with DOD or any of that crap so it should be relatively easy swap.

Also the springs will need replaced with the LS6 springs?

Hardened pushrods?
