Default Muffler offset on 6.2??

Ok well at the time i just have the muffler cut out and a 3" straight pipe in place of muffler, but when i go with headers im obviously going to have to put a muffler in, either magnaflow or borla. But the question is, do i need a offset inlet, offset outlet? offset in, center out? Etc?? I want to be able to put the muffler in and just beable to run a peice of straight(because noone can bend 3.5" near me) to make up the difference in the stock muffler to the much shorter new muffler.

Originally I just had it dumped then I had a custom y made to dual it out.

Why not cut off muffler back add a new one and run out behind PS tire?

When I bought my magnaflow 14909 muffler I couldn't find anybody that could work with 3.5 pipe either. I ended up bringing the truck to a local custom exhaust shop and the guy was able to utilize all my stock piping by cutting the tailpipe in certain section's and twisting it and rewelding so that the tailpipe come out in the stock location which is exactly what I wanted. The guy did a killer job and only charged me $60.00. Any reputable shop should be able to do the same. Good luck.

yeah it does look like it is missing the left side the way the factory tailpipe sticks out.

since you already have a piece of straight pipe welded in, cant you just cut what you need out to stuff the new muffler in? center in/out?

i also plan on keeping the stock piping out to the back... buying a borla xr1 40945 soon. this muffler is center in/out.

Ya but that was a simple fix at the moment and I'm wanting to put 3.5" back in it when I do the headers. Do u know a shop that can do 3.5"? If not with a center/center they will hav to use 3" to take up the space. I looked under mine today an it looks like a offset/offset opposite sides is what I'll need to get so I can put a piece of 3.5 straight to take up the space
