2012 Chevy ECSB 6.2 summit white, ebony leather interior.

Traded my 06 Chevy CCSB 4.8 155k miles in last Monday, financed under 30k. I took it to the track Saturday temp was 84* so I was happy with the 14.75@95.25 I didn't look up the da but I would say somewhere around 5k+
I'm debating on if I should tune it, I'm gonna do a muffler delete, and a airaid Jr for sure. I've been reading about removing the rear blocks and adding 2" drop shakes to the rear and the drop struts to the front!

I voted no. I today's day and age, you can take that "mod money" and use it for much better things (things that'll make you money, not cost you money), while having that safety net of a warranty. After the warranty runs up, then go for it. When you wait, you have more time to plan, save in a smart manner, stockpile the right parts, and eventually appreciate the overall build more in the end.

Even though I'm only 21 I agree with this planning thing totally!!!! Lol my build cost a bunch more than a turbo kit and I am still not as fast as turbo trucks ...I bought my truck new in September and I ran a 16.99 stock and now I run a 12.60... With new times coming in 2 weeks.... My warranty is voided on just about everything Just think about it all first lol ... Have fun ... And nice ride!!!!

I voted no for now. I learned the hard way not to mod a DD lol. If you have a company truck or something, have at it.

The tune is the only warranty voiding mod I plan on doing, nothing else no major mods like C/H/I or boost. Just a simple tune, so let that reflect on your vote. Thanks for the input!

I still say no. I'm all for feeding my passion, one of them being vehicles, but I always try to play it smart and take my time, regardless. A tune is a definite wake-up, but make sure to check with the local dealership(s) first--each and every one seem to differ.

Now, about swapping out the PCM... At my local dealership, that'd pass. I don't know how much your local dealer(s) really care and/or how much attention they pay to getting every dime out of people, for work that just might not be covered under warranty.

I vote yes, you only live once and mine is modded with basic boltons but it's fast and brings me joy everyday when I drive it. I have backup plans already in place, for that "just in case". My dealer lucklily, is mod friendly.

I've mod every vehicle I've owned in some way or another and every time I regret it.
But I can't stop doing it, never have and never will, I've accepted it lol.

Just getting rid of TM is so worth it, do it.

I'm on my phone right now so I can't see the poll, but FWIW I leveled my 11 6.2 CCSB 4x4 on 33s before I even took it home, had an Airaid Jr on it under 3000 miles and was tuned by 5k if not sooner. My only regret is swapping the muffler for a 3.5" Cherry Bomb; I wish I would have just gutted the cat after the y and left it at that. I don't have time right now to go into the details, but the GMT900 half-tons don't have the Global A engine management, meaning that as long as your tune is reset EXACTLY as it came from the factory, there is no way the dealer can detect that a tune was altered and subsequently reset. There is no flash history in our computer. Camaros and Regals and Duramax trucks have it, but not ours, yet. Definitely expect it for the new chassis, but we aren't on the list yet. I have a backup tune loaded to an AutoCal just in case.
