Default My slowwwww 4.8 :( need help !

I went to the local 1/8 mile track Friday night it was like 70* and humid in Houston, tx .... My best time was a 9.8 at 75 with a 2.45 60' .... What the heck is going on ? My truck is a 2011 rcsb 4.8 with 4.10s tru trac, intake, magnaflow, tsp220 112lsa, 3200circled stall with built 4l60e, shorty headers (yes I'm gonna get long tubes soon) lol, and stock steel 17's with 245/70/17 stock tires, with a Wheatley tune .... Help!!!! What is going on?

First off, the weather was poor, that probably .2-.4 tenths you lost right there.

Second, you have 245s and only managed a 2.45 60', there is another .4 tenths.

75mph is generally a trap speed for a 9.2-9.4

And only having shorties stole some time as well.

It doesnt even sound like you have a converter. If you didnt spin, and only cut a 2.45 60'ft with a 3200 verter and 4.10s........I dont even know.

I suppose you need to adjust your combo or wait til you get longtubes and good weather.

I foot brake up to 2800 before it starts to creep... I think the cam might be too much and not enough converter ...

Not near enough converter for that cam in a 4.8. I had a ss4000 with 4.10s and just bolt ons in my cc 4.8. Ran 8.9's with a 1.86 60. My trap was 75 as well. The long tubes picked mine up 2-3 mph and 2-3 tenths. I ran 9.2 or 9.3 with stock manifolds and y pipe with street tires. Trap was around 72

So what would u recommend me doing? Smaller cam with same converter? Or bigger converter ? I actually lost time on my 60' with the converter and cam and smaller tires ...

It will take a lot of converter for a 220 in a 4.8 I loved my ss4000 on just boltons. Some don't like a loose converter though. One things for sure, it will perform much better with more converter.

What about a different cam and the same converter? Any recommendations for a cam to put in? Unless my trans builder will switch out the converters or me... My only problem would be is that I have a 2000 lb fishing boat I have to tow ...
