I have a 08 ccsb 6.2 that has true duals no cats with old school 2 chamber flowmasters and sounds good but is really loud. I'm looking for something that sounds good but doesnt have a lot of in cab drone. been looking at the borla xr-1, magnaflow and dynomax anybody have any sound clip or input

 

Of those three roughly the same size, magnaflow will be your quietest, then your borla, and then probably the dynomax. IMO, magnaflow tone sounded kinda lame on my 6.2 even with headers and high flow cats, but I didn't get any drone or rasp at least. Borla xr1 sounds agressive and louder from the youtube clips with little rasp.

 

Honestly if i were you, why don't you put some resonators before the mufflers to cut out some of the raspyness your geting with no cats ? Would save you alot of time and money taken that apporach than reworking your exhaust.

I love the hollow sounds of the flowmasters, but hate the rasp so this is a great compromise IMO.

I've had numerious people tell me how good it sounds. Guess they were just used to the magnaflows everyone runs.

are you running 2.5" duals? Flip through some catalogs or search online for some mufflers you like then search youtube for the sound clips.
