If its not going into 1st from a stop and it starting in second gear, then there is a mechanical issue. Check your Linkages as mentioned including the indicator switch. If this doesn't solve your problem Let the trans guy trouble shoot it.

Yes you can! Bi Directional scan tools and Tuning software are very powerful devices.
I was referencing a factory tune for specs. Of course that can all be modified with tuning software
