new 2012 6.2 cc sierra
Hey guys i figured its probably time to post up a few pics of my truck. got just over 1100km so far. have been doing a hard break in... can definitely feel the power of the 6.2 and the 3.73 rear. Things i don't like are the factory tune, and the bose system sounds just ok. Throttle response is sub par, and so is the shifting. Shifts out of the usable powerband way too early when around town.. for mileage i'm sure. Really don't like the amount of torque management either..
overall though i'm very happy with it! great ride, 4x4 seems to tear through the snow effortlessly, and i already smoked my lil brothers truck twice(used to be mine lol) I'm also not someone who keeps anything stock, ive done a few mods, but have a lot more planned
mods so far are ddm 6k lows, debadged, modded stock air box, 2" leveling kit.
next mod: airraid mit and dry filter(any suggestions?)
future mods ext/performance: 6k fogs, led bulbs, aftermarket 18's, nitto trail grapplers, BB tune, long tubes, prob borla xr1 muffler(not sure yet), colour match front/rear bumpers, tonneau cover
interior/audio: avic-x930bt, x4 id8v3 subs, sealed fiberglass box made by me, not sure what speakers yet. already have 300watt 4 channel, 1500watt mono memphis amps and sound deadening
have a few questions,
think i could hook up the factory rear camera to the pioneer unit instead of through the rear view mirror?
would you get mudflaps or 3M behind the wheels? i do plan on offroading so i dont want to rip off the flaps.. happened to me before

IMO, mudflaps look like crap, and still don't protect the critical areas from chips. I installed 3M on mine. I used 120" of 6" wide tape. From my past experience, that should keep most of the chips away. If you're going to install it, you need to do it soon, before any chips show up, otherwise you'll see bubbles through the 3M.

I don't like mudflaps either but they do serve a purpose. You live in Northern Alberta, not Texas, not California, and not the east coast. We have more gravel on Edmontons streets than we do on the gravel backroads. I would honestly do both the 3M tape and the flaps. The flaps will knock down the big stones that will destroy the 3M and the 3M protects from the sand that the flaps don't stop.
3M on it's own will do the job but don't expect it last very long in the high impact areas. If you really can't stand the flaps stock up on 3M and learn to install it yourself as a cost saving measure, lol.

Yea I don't live right in Edmonton, live just outside. I don't drive into the city too often so I think the 3M is the way to go.
I was offloading in my old truck, hit a deep rut and the drivers side mudflap went flying lol left some big holes in the fender so I would like to avoid that again

Thanks for the compliments! I know a tune will really wake it up, probably get headers at the same time as the tune. Not till prob spring as I want some km before I toss out the warranty lol
I was looking at used denali's too but I know I didnt want awd so I waited till I found what I wanted. Took a while!
