New 6.2 with tapping lifter?

Wicked. Sounds like my 09's LY6 that had a lifter fall apart and wipe a lobe off the cam at 60000 miles...... And according to GM at multiple dealers that sound was "normal". Lol.
Or you can be lucky like this guy:

I would have burnt the truck and the dealership around it!

Mine doesn't tick at start up any more but if I do not let it warm up a bit before I drive you can hear the pistons object! One of my neighbors will get in their 2006 Burban and without any warm up blast down the street. You can hear every inch of piston slapping all the way down the street. Just can't do it.

These engines do make noise at idle. If you think there is something wrong stay after the dealer or try another dealer. May be why the truck was sold at 4200 miles!
I had a nightmare with a 2011 5.3. The dealer told me nothing was wrong with it either but it ate a lifter and camshaft at 3000 miles. Then only a couple thousand miles after that the engine let go. Got rid of that POS and bought the 6.2 I have now. Bought two trucks in 6 months to get one that works. The dealer told me after my third visit with my first truck GM was not going to do anything unless there were parts laying on the floor. Start the documentation if you haven't already, don't just let them listen to it, get them to write a service order on it every time you take it in.

The injectors will make a fair bit of noise (light tapping). And with the low quality of factory lifters they can be noisy at times (louder tapping some times on and off). But you said only tapping after warmup! What kind of oil pressure is your gauge reading ? Accuracy of some factory gauges is questionable.
