New cam setup. opinions please

Default New cam setup. opinions please

I realize this is my first post. But I will lay it all out.
The truck is a 2011 gmc sierra, 5.3l LC9. LT headers, CAI, Black bear tune.
I am going to do the VVT and DOD delete with a new cam. Howards 226/232
578/587@115. my question is can I use the LS6 behive springs and be ok? I was also told that I can use my stock pushrods.

Oh i have the 6speed and stock converter. Is this cam to much for my converter?

thats a donkey *** cam for a 5.3 stock converter stock gears stock compression.
look into something else imho. i vote mill the heads 025 an run a 040 head gasket with a vinci trucker high lift cam with pac1218s.

as for the springs they are rated at 575 max. so that cam would push them and cause early failure. put a set of pac1218s in it.

What do you mean donkey? I'm not looking into doing a bunch of stuff. I was just told that was a great cam. That's all.

its really too big for your current combo. Like Niff said, its big for a 5.3, stock conv. and gears. get u a 3600 stall and some 4.10s and it might would be fun.

look for something in high 21X on intake low 22x on exhaust. and to be safe, get you some dual springs. Brian tooley racing has a set for $219

It may be the greatest cam ever, with the right combination. Everything's got to work together, like these guys are saying. A great cam that only makes power above 4000 rpm will make your truck suck with stock converter and gears. Listen to these guys, they've been-there, done-that, got-the-tattoo.

So I talked to Howard's, he personally even recommended this cam. He said because the lobe separation is at 115. The computer will respond better and the stock converter will be fine.

I actually decided to go with PAC 1218 springs. So that's solved. Haha.
