Then the guy you talked to is a dumbass...

You would be much better off with a smaller cam or you can learn the hard way. Your choice...

A 212/218 cam or a 220/220 cam

The trucker cam mentioned above is a 216/224 cam any of these will work but for a stock converter truck run a 212/218 cam

The 212/218 high and low lift will be your top recommended picks for a stock converter truck.

Or go with a custom grind from a reputable source.

What about either of these two.
210/214 595/598 @114. Or
216/224. 551/551 @ 114

the 216/224 551/551 is the vinci trucker. Its cut on a 115 lsa though from VHP. both of those cams would be fine. IMHO, i wouldnt go any bigger than the trucker w/ a stock converter

the trucker cam with more compression will work well with an oem converter and a 6spd. 6400-6500 shift point and itll stay in the power band.

the 212 218 is the smallest i will go. the truck will run out of steam with anything smaller.

i agree with whoever you talked to is just trying to blow smoke. that big of a cam even on a 115 will be a turd below 4k.

dont look for the biggest cam you can run...look for a medium tq style cam that will produce hp but have tons of tq down low to push that tank.

please stay away from the 220/220 cam...thats a cookie cutter cam that everyone runs. if you want that cam go with a different lift and lsa along with maybe some advance in it with a stronger cam grind.
