Just bought an 07 Reg Cab Short Box 2wd silverado with a 4.8 in it. its got a 3.23 rear end. was wondering if you guys could chime in here and help me out looking to level the rear end with the front. i dont want to lower the front because it snows here and i need some ground clearance. Anyone know of something that could help me out? Was thinkin about trying to find a set of factory 20's to run on it and wondering what size tire i should run with that gear set in the truck.

Welcome to the forum.

I used the belltech 2" drop shackles and removed the spacer blocks between the axle and leaf springs. Its not quite level but is close enough to hold me over until I can do a full 3/6 drop. I think the part number is 6401 for the shackle and spacer kit.

Factory 20" tire size is 275/55/20. Some here have wider tires on them but with your 3.23 gears you may see a loss in mpg's.

My truck has drum brakes in the rear can you fit a 15'' wheel on the back of these with the drums on it? I've seen a few post on here saying that you can but is there a backspacing issue or something?

Congrats on your new truck! Welcome to the club!
What else u looking to do to your truck?
If u wanna even up the front u can but spacers to put ontop of ur springs to level it out. Simple Internet search will give u plenty of options.

Thanks. Ill have to get some pic's up. I really dont know what else i want to do im still amazed on how quick this truck completely stock is. I'm used to driving a lifted 4x4 truck. Im thinkin im wanting to do full bolt on's and move into some kind of supercharger later on. Im just trying to decide if i want to lift it up a little bit or lower it.

I put belltech 2" drop shackles and removed the 1" block from the back of my 07 RCSB. The rear still sits about 1" higher than the front. Looks pretty decent though for now. Would love to lower it, but right now the money is too tight.

I originally was going to level it out in the front with 2"-2.5" front spacers and the go with factory 20's and 275-60-20 Cooper Zeon LTZ's, but thought with the 4.8 liter I would loose too much mpg. The truck already is not great on the fuel and I am running 3.73's. You'd be disappointed with the performance and mileage with the 4.8 if you lifted and larger tires in my opinion.
