New truck and lowering question

New truck and lowering question
I just got a 2010 Silverado Texas Edition. I like everything about it except the height. It's looking like a 2/4 drop might be in order. Or maybe a 3/5. I don't want to change the ride much but get it a little closer to the ground. What are the popular kits?
I am also looking at Billet Grills. Right now I am looking at the "bolt-over" style by Carriage Works. Any input on that brand or the cut vs bolt-over styles?
Here is a pic.

I did the Carriage Works, cut out style insert on my 06. Nice grille so I would vote for that, can't add much on the drop of a GMT900 though. Great looking truck, congrats.

I have a billet grille on mine. Its a bolt over, but I still cut the stock parts out because its looks cleaner and it caused fit ment problems for the grille.
And a 2/4 drop will be the best for you if you're looking for stock ride quality.
I also have a set of mcguaphys 2" lowering springs if you would like them. Pm me and I'll sell them to you.

Great looking truck, congrats on the new ride!
Mine is the Texas Edition also, but I debadged it, added some Billet and lowered it 2/4.
There are a few different ways to get to the 2/4 either by purchasing a kit or piecing together one. Mine was done keeping all the stock shocks. 2" Beltech Coils upfront, 2" Beltech shackles + 2" McGaughys Leafs in the rear. Front rides pretty much exactly like stock, back is a little stiffer than stock, but not enough to bother me.
All my bolt over/in Billet was purchased and installed by DFW Camper Corral in Mesquite Texas, great group of guys over there and they really are into trucks, ask for Joey.
Again, congrats on the new truck!

For the front go with 2" drop spindles to keep better geometryand either belltech drop struts or a mcg coil relocator to get another 1". for the rear do a flip kit with 2" lift hangers to get a 5" drop. Drops leafs ride a bit rougher, from what Ive heard.
As for the billet grill. I have a cut out one. I used to have a bolt over but I didn't really like the fact that you can still see the factory black mesh.
Pros of a bolt over is that you can always go back to factory. The cut out one you're screwed, you have to have another cut out since you had to cutbthe fctory mesh off.

ive seen some GMT-900's with 2/4 drops and you can barely tell its dropped. These trucks are pretty tall compared to the previous body style. I decided on a 4/7 DJM. Got
4" lower control arms and a rear flip. Some people cut the bump stops so that it doesnt bottom out so soon but i kept mine and have an air bag helper system on the way. (I highly recommend it)
heres my trucks before n after

I don't know that I want to go quit as low as yours, Blackjack, but you are right about them being tall. Maybe a 3/5 would be better. I just want to get it down where I don't need running boards. If I want something to handle well, I just jump in the Camaro. I think drop spindles are the way to go. I was wanting to keep the stock shocks but I know how much better aftermarkets can be.
Thanks for all the replies.
