I put a set of rims and tires on my truck. It looks great, rides great, and handles great, but for some reason when i brake it pulsates to a stop. Any ideas guys?

 

take off the rear tires and you need to remove the assmebly line clips that are on the studs for the drum brakes. The clips (washer looking) pieces are not needed, its only used during assembly of the truck...should be maybe 2 per side.

If thats not it your rotors are warped, but I bet its those clips.

 

why would it be those clips... they weight as much as a paper clip.

 

Yeah those clips can cause the problem. Not very often but they can.

 

Its not a weight issue, for some reason aftermarket wheels dont sit flush with those clips so it causes problems. 9 out of 10 times its those stupid clips. I have seen this issue alot of times when people get new wheels and its usually those stupid clips

id say its a weight difference in wheels making wraped rotors more noticeable

 

I agree with JB1, I can almost guarantee its the clips that the shop forgot to remove. Factory wheels have a recess at the lug holes where the clips sit into. Aftermarket wheels don't, the clips are very paper thin, yes, but trust me, I have witnessed it with my own eyes.

 

Well it ended up being the clips. I removed the 2 on each side and now it is as smooth as a baby's butt when i hit the brakes.
