Default Newer hemi r/t ... :(

I ran into one on the way home today. And he wanted to run em . And I just swapped my open Cai for the stock air box and MIT fro
Air raid and I lost a bunch of power.. Is that to be expected or will it be better when I get it tuned for that setup ? Needless to say that thing was quick, he was tuned with intake and straight pipes my 4.8 didn't stand a chance with the way it is right now .

Hmmm, I never had open element or closed ones do a ton for any of my rides. I think you'll get better results from a retune but IMO I wouldn't say it would be a gamechanger

Yea, sorry, but he has about 100 horse on you from the factory. The older quad cab hemis might be fun to mess with, but not the new ones. You would need most if not all the bolt ons for these engines to keep up with a new hemi.

Ah, didn't know you had all that done. If you were running properly might have been pretty close.

I was messing with an older Dodge Hemi quad the other night on the highway. I have 3.23 gears so that's where I shine. We seemed pretty close from what I could tell from our random punches.

Some day I'll turbo it lol... But for now I need to switch from shorties to long tubes ... And what are people calling the airbox mods ? Those new r/t single cab rams come with a loose 2600 stall, 3.92 gears and of course the "hemi" lol .

Honestly, just put a K&N filter in the stock airbox. I have done compaired logs between my CAI and my friends stock airbox and paper filter with minimal differences.. Even when I installed the CAI on my truck, the butt dyno felt 0 gains..
Did you race the Hemi from a roll or a dig?

I have an airaid filter and tube to the stock airbox... It was from a roll... A bunch of times lol.... With the boxed in filter trying to suck through that little hole in the fender was suffocating it... Lol .... I'm gonna get Wheatley to tune it for this intake and raise my shift points to 6700 and I'll be ready for that hemi
... Maybe

They have 4.10 gears and its the only model that you can get those gears, I work at a Dodge dealership and we have had only one of these trucks. They are quick, the thing about the new hemi is that they are very sluggish off the start, torque management is not their friend. If you try to take one on a roll from 30 mph, even the none r/t trucks pull very hard and would be hard to beat.
