NNBS 4l60e swap to 4L80e...whos done it?
#22
my 08 works great with the repin setup. justin did the tune, iirc my vin is now 2g which should be canada? i remember finding that a bit odd. my only "problem" is that it will lock the converter in 2nd gear

The 80e I'm looking at comes with a convertor along with the 6.0 flywheel w/spacer and the truck harness and computer.
Its out of an 04 van, is this going to be compatible to my 07 Tahoe?
Thanks

Well I posted in here back in May but finally have the truck at the shop getting the physical part of the 4L80E swap done (07 GMT-900 4x4) they are just waiting on the new drive shafts now.
I was going to just do the GMT-900 repin as per the thread, add the VSS and get it segment swapped but when I sent my file to HPT support they said that they can't do it with mine (and I assume most GMT-900's?) "E series pcms such as E37, E38, E40, E67, etc do NOT support transmission segment swapping"
So I went back to RedHeartbeat's thread: 4L60E to 4L80E conversion in a GMT900 and noticed this:
PCM/TCM...
Conversion is finished, had to get a 2008 Chevrolet Express 4.8L/4L80e van C2500 TCM tune to get the transmission to shift correctly. There was nothing special done to make the TCM work in the Silverado, just swap them out. The TCM was loaded with a factory tune for an 80e transmission, thanks for the help there Nathan.
So this is the way I'm going to try it since I do not want to do the relay method, would prefer to have the ISS in there etc.
Is this what others are doing as well on these?
**Sidenote**
In that thread Nelson Performance had not figured out the 4x4 NNBS thing probably have since then but wanted to mention I was at the tranny shop this morning and they had successfully fitted my stock Transfer case with this 32 spline input shaft (sku#19132978)

ok, I guess someone needs to explain to me how you insert an express van tune in to your original tune. I have an 08 crew cab NNBS truck and am going 80E also. Have no idea how you guys are doing it. Fill me in!
