i was on the way home, it was a detour on a very uphill road, under heavy traffic, then the tranny temp rises a lot.. 97celsius was top!

then the truck start slipping, i continued slowly cuz theres no room to pull away, then the truck lost all gears..

i let it cool.. when the tranny was cold, i tryed to start again, the truck run like 1 kilometer perfect and then it fail again..

when i was in a safe spot, a friend towed me home...

what could happen to the 4l60e...

just went through this in my 09 with a 5.3 rcsb with 4l60e, wife was driving in heavy traffic she called me and told me the rpms were rising and the truck wouldnt hardly move, i told her to keep it in first gear if traffic was crawling and once she got out of traffic or it picked up to shift through the gears, well she made it home ok, once she got home and i got home from work i drove the truck BUT it was banging the gears, so i just beat on it until it wouldnt shift NO more lol ( on the way to dealership of course ) got it back to day with a total rebuild of the tranny.. clutches were burnt

How many miles on the transmission? Did you have a cooler or servos in it? Sounds like the thing just had a melt down and burned the clutches up

My 2nd gear started slipping over the weekend. Its weird. Driving normally you can't tell anything is wrong with it but if you try to get on it in 2nd gear (its the only one slipping) it slips. Time for a 4l80.

mine does exactly the same way. I took in it for dealer service to show them and they said " that is not normal driving" so therefore it is fine
