Exclamation NNBS tranny temp with tru cool

Think my tru cool is 40k is a Little high. Today my tranny got up to 198. No bueno considering 3200 converter is going in this weekend. I know summer heat is here, but it's San Diego, nowhere near hot as other places. I have the tru cool 40k lpd4739. I checked all lines, connections, etc n they are good, tranny is good on fluid so I'm stuck. I installed the little blue external bypass fitting so I'm thinking I might remove it entirely if I can't find any issues. But I'm not sure. It does not get freezing here so it shouldn't be a problem. Another thing is my truck is due for tranny service. (filter n new fluid) But that will take place this weekend. Any ideas? Thanks. 08 Silverado 4.8 with 4L60E. Thanks

Mine never gets over 150 in Alabama heat, which we all know is way hotter than Cali heat

Remove the bypass....and where did you mount it? In front of the condenser?

Remove the bypass. I never install them, even here in Alaska. My trans temps are usually right around 135*, summer temps in the 80's and winter temps in the -10's.

Yeah, what does the mounting look like? Mine still gets too hot with the new converter cause of a lack of airflow... Have a fan en route to fix that. May be something to consider if its mounted too far from the fans.

mouning is just in frong of the radiator. if u remove the grille, just behind that crowmember or grille suppport, in front of the radiator. Looks like i will be removing the external bypass and connecting it directly. Thanks guys.

Does anybody know of someone who has had issues in the winter without the bypass?
