I have been driving the truck around all day and I noticed that the trans temp does climb quicker than it did with the stock converter, but it doesn't go any higher than 170 which is where it would go with the stock one (it would actually go up to about 185 or so on long tows), and I was really standing up on it a lot (hell yeah, it's fun!!), in 90 degree weather. I don't think 170 - 180 is fatal, but I would defer to those who have experience with these trannys... Do you think I need an auxillary cooler? Also, I thought the Denali came with HD coolers for both engine and transmission oil?
BTW: Yank didn't recommend a cooler and even said that I would retain my stock towing capability with the PT3200, but I'm not so sure about that one...
yeah i am about to buy the same converter. They told me that in the emails, he said i wouldnt loose any towing power. But he told me to buy a really good tranny cooler and the tranny would be good. I plan on hookin up a 100 shot to it as well

I don't think you will lose towing power - it'll probably jerk my 4500lb boat and trailer out of the water much better than before. BUT, what I worry about is slow towing and stop and go in traffic. The way this convertor acts, I have no doubt it'll affect trans temps in that scenario, but I will let you know how it goes. I am sure that with a good aftermarket transcooler, there won't be any temperature control problems.
I have to say though, that I enjoy the truck more everyday now, especially with those stupid little wanna-be drag racer ****** with their Honda Integras and such when I catch them at a stop light!! There's nothing better than a dose of some American Iron for those poor souls on a "Rice diet"!!!

Does anybody know what size/type the fittings are on the stock coolers? Are they metric or standard? are they inverted flare? (I want to order a cooler and fittings ASAP, without having to wait till the weekend to pull off the stock one to see)
From the photo above, it looks like the stocker has two female couplers but from that angle, I can't see enough to even judge what size or type the threads and fittings are...
